I just want to say hello to my fans... or followers whatever you want to call them it's the same thing. I apologize once again for not blogging a post in forever; but come on, my life is not that exciting to where I will be submitting things every day so patience is a virtue that must be exercised. Alright here is the most recent news in my life:
I GOT A JOB!!! Also, I GOT ACCEPTED TO BRIGHAM YOUNG UNIVERSITY!!!
Pretty sweet right? I am now an employee of Nuskin Enterprises; I work as a Spanish sales rep for the Latin America department where I will be helping our amigos in Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, and Argentina. I feel incredibly blessed to be a part of that company and look forward to actually starting the job. Although training is sort of kicking my butt right now so I'm a little wary of actually starting. To give you an idea of all I have to learn, training is a full 4 weeks long. Yeah, that's intense. Also in my training session it's me and 7 dudes (including the trainer)... that's a lot of testosterone. Nevertheless I'm pumped to not only have a job (and get dressed every day in something other than sweats and a t-shirt), but to work at Nuskin.
That's my ID card picture. If I could transfer that to be my license picture for the rest of my life, I would.
Let's talk about BYU. I got in! I honestly can't believe it, I submitted the application on January 31st and they took their sweet time responding. Every day felt like torture having to check my email periodically throughout the day. This morning I checked my email before work and this is roughly the mental process that ensued...
ME: checking my email
BYU: a decision has been reached on your admission to BYU, please click on this link where you can view the decision
ME: heart sank down to my stomach, mouth is drained of any moisture, palms began to perspire, panic mode INITIATED
BYU: Congratulations! You're in! (<-- roughly what they said)
ME: fist pump in the air
So that folks is how my life has been for the past week or so. Also, my parents and dear womb mate are visiting in roughly 24 days. That deserves a double fist pump in the air.
As a "part 2" to the blog I thought I'd share a pizza recipe that turned out amazing for me.
Recipe for the dough:
1 Tbsp. sugar 3 1/4 c. flour
1 c. warm water 1 tsp. salt
1 envelope (or 1 Tbsp.) dry yeast 1/4 c. olive oil
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Test the yeast by combining it with the water and sugar. Mix it for 1 minute then let stand for 5. If the mixture becomes frothy, you have good dough and may proceed. Mix in olive oil, salt, and flour to make bread dough consistency. Knead 5 minutes. Spread on previously greased pan (I rub olive oil over it using a paper towel/napkin) and add toppings. Bake at 450 for 15-20 minutes.
The toppings we used:
*Hunt's tomato sauce as base (8 oz. can) note: I added Italian seasoning, minced garlic, salt, and pepper to the sauce to liven it up a little bit, otherwise it will taste a bit bland
*almost an entire bag of cheddar cheese note: this is according to your taste, I love cheesy pizzas so I drowned it in cheese but your call on how much you use
*generous sprinkling of Parmesan cheese (told you I liked cheese)
*pepperoni
*mushrooms
*sliced onion
*jalapeƱos
Here is the finished product of deliciousness on a pan.
